The Greenfield Community Energy Cooperative wanted to make solar energy accessible to residents who couldn't install panels on their own homes. We developed a 2MW community solar farm on a former industrial site.
The project involved installing over 5,000 solar panels on a 10-acre site, along with the necessary infrastructure to connect to the grid. We also implemented a sophisticated billing and credit system to distribute the benefits to community subscribers.
The solar farm now provides clean electricity to over 300 households in the community, many of whom live in apartments or have unsuitable roofs for solar panels. Subscribers typically save 10-15% on their electricity bills while supporting local renewable energy production.
